John Robb and Margary Givans

At last a photo of my great great Grandparents, on my Mums (Dorothy nee Barron) side. Never thought I would ever see one and it arrived today.

John and Margary married 1857 in Scotland immigrated to New Zealand on the Charlotte Gladstone arriving in New Zealand , anchoring off Godley Heads outside of Lyttleton at 6am Monday 30 January 1871. Bringing with them their children, the seventh William Fox Gladstone Robb born two weeks out from landing . In all they appear to had had nine children, the first son David dying in Scotland. The Robbs settled in the rural country town of Doyleston in South Canterbury.
The list compiled so far includes David Robb bn1858 , children immigrating on the ship Jessie Duff Robb bn 1861, Marjory Robb bn 1863, Elizabeth Phillips bn 1865, John Givens Robb bn 1867(my gr-grandfather) James bn 1869, Willliam Fox Gladstone bn 1871, born in New Zealand Isabell bn1872 David bn 1875. Travelling with the family was Isabella Robb aged 18, she may have been a cousin and was listed as a general servant. Some great stories are waiting to be rediscovered!
